Arjen played in his youth for Sparta in Rotterdam and worked for many years in
secondary vocational education. He was a youth trainer in, for example, Qatar
and at FC Groningen. He was also a teacher for the Royal Dutch Football
Association. Internationally he has worked on football projects in Norway,
South Korea, Greece, Lebanon, Poland, Peru and Kenya, among others.
